Conversation begins at digital platform Howspace week before the event and continues until 21.10.2022. Lunch and coffee servings are included in the congress ticket price. (Lunch contains a glass of wine.) Dinner includes a three course meal with a fish, vegetarian and vegan option.

Keynote – Kati Outinen: “Sanoja rohkeudesta luovassa prosessissa” (in Finnish and interpreted on the spot – not in the stream)
Kati Outinen is an award-winning actress who has made a wide international career. She will talk aboutthe courage to do artictic work by listening to and presenting one’s own vision.

Expert speech: Bold teacher, Aada Taipale
Landscape architect Aada Taipale tells about her work, how she can make an impact and and what inspires her under the theme “Bold teacher”.
Keynote – Michael Jacob: “What is Landscape architecture, and why it (really) matters”
Professor Michael Jakob teaches History and Theory of Landscape at hepia, Geneva, and aesthetics of design at HEAD, Geneva. He is a visiting professor at Politecnico di Milano and the Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio. He is, at the same time, Professor of Comparative Literature (Chair) at Grenoble University. His lecture focuses on understanding beauty.
Expert speech: Bold site, Malin Blomqvist
Landscape architect Malin Blomqvist is a partner in Masu Planning operating both in Denmark and Finland. Malin will discuss under the theme “Bold Site” a museum garden of HC Andersen House of Fairytales.
Keynote – Edgar Kaare: “Inventing Estonian Landscape Architecture – the Startup Approach“
Landscape architect Edgar Kaare shares his story and examples of being part of starting up Landscape Architecture in Estonia. What is the “startup” story of Estonian Landscape Architecture? What are the challenges and opportunities in starting something from scratch?

Expert speech: Bold opening, One planet vision
Landscape architects Hanna Hannula & Daniela Rosqvist will present under the theme “Bold opening” their project “One planet’s visions” that seeks for solutios to the ecological crisis and aims to form visions of a truly sustainable society.
Keynote – Ronald Rietveld: “Total Interventions“
Visual artist and landscape architect Ronald Rietveld from Netherlands will talk about the overall bold approach of design work in the RAAAF collective that operates at the crossroads of visual art, (landscape) architecture and academic philosophy. Ronald will also present the Ithaka project, a natural pool in Almere.

Landscape architect Laura Yli-Jama tells about her work, how she can make an impact and what inspires her under the theme “Bold mandator”
Keynote – Signe Nielsen: “Optimistic Landscapes”
Landscape architect Signe Nielsen from USA is a Founding Principal of MNLA and a professor of urban design and landscape architecture at Pratt Institute. She has been practicing as a landscape architect and urban designer in New York since 1978. In her presentation she will talk about the Little Island project that is a dramatic 2.4-acre public park in the Hudson River, NY, that brings together art and nature in an immersive experience.

Expert speech: Bold student, Eetu Mykkänen
Landscape architect Eetu Mykkänen tells about his diploma thesis ” Place of identity – what identity means and why that matters to a landscape architect” under the theme “Bold student”.
Keynote – Jenny Osuldsen: “Minding the gap!”
Landscape architect Jenny Osuldsen is partner in Snøhetta and Professor in Landscape Architecture at the University of Life Science at Ås, Norway. Jenny will discuss her design philosophy and how boldness and beauty can be addressed in project work.
